Memorandum of Understanding Announced
Memorandum of Understanding between The Computer Science Department at James Madison University and The Information Resources Management College at National Defense University
Purpose:
The Master of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Information Security (InfoSec) program at James Madison University (JMU) and the National Defense University’s (NDU) Information Resources Management College (IRMC) agree to a joint mission to provide extended academic opportunities to IRMC students. The IRMC students who finish the Information Assurance (IRMC/IA) certificate program at NDU will be given nine transfer credit hours towards completing their Masters program at JMU, once they are formally accepted to the InfoSec program. The main objectives of this collaborative arrangement between the InfoSec program and IRMC include:
- Provide an opportunity for the IRMC students to continue with their quality education after finishing their Information Assurance Certification at IRMC and earn an InfoSec masters degree at James Madison University.
- Help the JMU InfoSec program recruit quality students from NDU.
- Leverage the strengths and resources of both programs to provide students with a high quality education.
Both institutions have as a mission to offer high quality graduate level programs in information assurance. It is recognized that while both of the partners provide unique programs, the interface of both programs will result in a new educational synergy that will have a significant impact on the effectiveness of information assurance education for both programs.
The following aspects of this agreement are intended to achieve the goals outlined above.
The InfoSec program agrees to accept nine credit hours (three courses) from IRMC/IA graduates towards a Master of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Information Security (InfoSec).
Currently, we have a number of pre-allocated scholarships available for NDU graduates. Please contact us for more details about this scholarship.
